4 sent to hospital after 6-vehicle accident in Sembawang involving motorcycle, van, car & 3 lorries

All four were sent to the hospital in a conscious state.

A six-vehicle accident in Sembawang on Nov. 14 sent four people to the hospital.

It involved a motorcycle, a car, a van and three lorries.

The accident, which took place close to 7am at the junction of Admiralty Road East and Deptford Road, was posted on Facebook pages SG Road Vigilante (SGRV) and ROADS.sg.

Initial collision

According to an SGRV Facebook video, the accident took place around 6:48am.

A black van in the right-most lane of a three-lane road crashed into other vehicles that stopped at a red light.

The van crashed into a lorry, pushing it forward.

The black van, which is still moving after hitting the first lorry, then hits other vehicles, including another lorry.

Another video of the accident by ROADS.sg showed another angle of the initial collision between the van and the first lorry.

The impact of the first collision caused the first lorry to crash into a black lorry, a car, and a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist fell on the road after the motorcycle was hit.

Upon witnessing the accident, the driver of a car not involved in the crash got out of his vehicle to help the motorcyclist to his feet.

The rear of a lorry was also dented.

Hospital

In response to Mothership's queries, the police confirmed being alerted at around 6:50am on Nov. 14 to an accident at the junction of Admiralty Road East and Deptford Road.

In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) also confirmed being alerted at around 6:55am to the same accident on Nov. 14.

Upon arriving at the scene, SCDF used hydraulic rescue equipment to rescue one lorry driver and one van driver from their driver's seats.

SCDF then conveyed four people conscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

They included a 56-year-old male motorcyclist, a 38-year-old male van driver, a 71-year-old male lorry driver and his 42-year-old male passenger.

Police investigations are ongoing.
