Singaporean content creator Xiaxue has posted snippets of the lawyer's letter allegedly sent by content creator Simonboy, following her remarks on Instagram that questioned his intentions behind the Forever Megan Charity.

Xiaxue, whose real name is Wendy Cheng, shared excerpts of the cease-and-desist letter on her Instagram stories, claiming that it was "only fair" for others to see the contents of the letter.

She added that others can "judge" for themselves after seeing the other party's point of view.

Cease-and-desist

Simonboy, also known as Khung Wei Nan, announced on Nov. 6 that he started the Forever Megan Charity in remembrance of his late daughter, Megan Khung.

When announcing his charity on Nov. 6, he described it as a way of transforming his grief about Megan into kindness to positively impact the lives of the children in the orphanage.

However, he has received flak online about the initiative.

Cheng was among his critics.

On Nov. 12, Cheng depicted Khung as a clout chaser and irresponsible parent on her Instagram stories.

She agreed with a comment onĀ Mothership's post about Khung's charity, which challenged whether Khung was a "real hero" who is honest and faithful "without any form of media attention".

Cheng also implied that Khung was grabbing a "random kid" for a photo opportunity in one of the photos he used to share about the charity's first project at an orphanage in Malaysia.

Commenting on Khung's parenting, Cheng pointed out that he had three children with three different wives.

"I think you have enough kids on your hands to go and handle," she added. "You don't need to go bother [to] take care of other people's children first."

Compensation

In her Instagram stories on Nov. 15, Cheng shared that the letter outlined his demands from her.

This included a "written offer of an amount to compensate [Khung] by way of damage."

The letter said that the compensation amount would be donated in its entirety to a charity of Khung's choice.

The letter further added that Khung will not hesitate to commence legal proceedings without further notice if she does not comply with his demands.

"So here it is. I'm supposed to offer him compensation, and he has to agree to the amount. Otherwise... he shall sue me. For even more money," said Cheng.

Other demands listed in the letter include:

  • The immediate removal of Instagram Stories and Facebook Stories
  • Providing a signed written apology
  • Publishing the apology on Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms she has made reference to Khung

Excerpts

Cheng published more excerpts from the letter, which alleged that the words in her Instagram stories and Facebook stories were taken to mean that Khung has "not been earning an honest living" and that he "is not loving and faithful towards his wife and family".

She refuted the claims, stating she made no such comments.

The letter went on to state that her words insinuated that Khung "only appears to be loving and faithful towards his wife and family for the sake of media attention, by documenting on social media and for the news about his first meeting with his first child after neglecting him for 11 years".

In response, Cheng posted a screenshot of Khung sharing about his first child in a TikTok video.

One claim in the letter stated that her "callous reference" to the passing of Megan was "abusive and insulting, and was intended to cause harassment, alarm and distress".

Cheng responded that she merely said "second one passed" and claimed that the words she used were "neutral".

"How is it callous or abusive or insulting? I'm also surprised it caused any 'alarm' considering the topic of Megan was not brought up by me, but by your client himself, since he named the charity after her. Sorry if I caused him to be startled."

The letter also implied that Cheng's social media posts were "ironic", even though she had earlier "expressed sorrow" regarding Megan's case while trying to request an interview with Khung on Mar. 1.

She also added a screenshot of her earlier Instagram interaction with Khung:

In her last Instagram Story, she posted an excerpt from the letter alleging that her posts have caused Khung to suffer "severe harassment, alarm and distress", "damage to his character and reputation", as well as financial losses due to his "inability to focus on his work".

When Mothership reached out to Khung, he declined to comment.

Cheng shared with Mothership that she has no other plans at the moment.
