One customer dining with her family told Mothership that the first blackout occurred at around 1:10pm.
The customer who was dining with her children said the first blackout lasted for about 20 minutes.
Second blackout
She added: "Then the lights came on for a bit and it blacked out again."
She does not know how long the second blackout lasted, as her family had left the food court by then.
Torchlight, paper fan
Due to the blackout, the customer and her family had to use their phone flashlights to finish their meals.
She noted that other customers were doing the same.
She added that because the air-conditioning was also down, she saw some people fanning themselves with paper fans because it started to get stuffy.
Responding to media queries, a FairPrice Group spokesperson said:
"Kopitiam Northpoint City experienced a blackout earlier today. Repairs and testing to determine the cause are currently in progress, and we anticipate that operations will resume by tomorrow (Nov 16)."
