S'pore to get more thundery showers in 2nd half of Oct. 2025

In the next two weeks, you may want to carry an umbrella if you are heading out.

Singapore may continue to experience thundery showers and gusty winds in the afternoon on most days over parts of the island, the Meteorological Service Singapore said on Oct. 16.

The country may also experience thundery showers and gusty winds between the predawn hours and morning on some days due to Sumatra squalls.

The total rainfall for the second fortnight of October 2025 is forecast to be above average over most parts of the island.

The daily maximum temperatures are likely to range between 32°C and 34°C.

Rainy first half of October

In the first half of October, the island experienced inter-monsoon conditions, with thundery showers over parts of Singapore, mainly in the afternoon on most days.

Of note was Oct. 3, when 92.8mm of rain fell over Sunset Way, the highest recorded for the first half of the month.

The daily maximum temperatures ranged between 31.7°C and 35.2°C

Choa Chu Kang recorded the highest daily temperature of 35.2°C on Oct. 5.

Jurong registered rainfall of 39 per cent above average, while Bedok North registered rainfall of 67 per cent below average.
