Woman, 56, dies after supposed fall from height at Jewel Changi Airport
Police investigations are ongoing.
A 56-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries in hospital after supposedly falling from height at Jewel Changi Airport on Oct. 16.
Police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Mothership that at about 1:55pm, they received a call for assistance at 78 Airport Boulevard. This is the address for Jewel Changi Airport.
A 56-year-old woman was sent to hospital, where she died from her injuries.
Person apparently fell from height
A TikTok clip on Oct. 16 showed members of the public gathered around what seemed to be a person on the ground at level 1 of Jewel Changi Airport.
A woman was seen performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on someone else.
A screenshot of a post in the clip claimed that the person had fallen from height, and that passengers helped with first aid before medical staff arrived.
SCDF said that it conveyed one person to Changi General Hospital.
A 56-year-old woman was conveyed unconscious to the hospital where she subsequently passed away, police said.
Police investigations are ongoing.
Lee Chin Wern, chief executive officer of Jewel Changi Airport Development, said they are deeply saddened by the incident and extend their condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
“We are working closely with the authorities to provide our full support in their investigations,” said Lee.
