Tan Su Shan, DBS Bank's first female CEO, has been named Fortune's most powerful woman in business in Asia for 2025.
The publication's 2025 ranking for Most Powerful Women Asia celebrates 100 women leaders who are turning regional and global volatility into opportunities for growth.
2025 Most Powerful Women Asia list
The leaders are selected by Fortune editors for their measurable impact, strategic influence, and ability to shape the future.
These include founders, CEOs, and other C-suite executives whose reach extends across borders and industries.
More than one-third of those featured lead companies listed in the Global 500, China 500, and Southeast Asia 500 rankings.
The list spans 14 markets across Southeast Asia, Greater China, India, Japan, South Korea, and Australia.
Number 1
Tan, who succeeded previous CEO Piyush Gupta in March 2025, is the first woman to lead DBS.
According to Fortune, Tan had told her colleagues that 2025 is "going to be a volatile year", and urged them to "buckle up".
She ranked first in the 2025 list.
Earlier in May 2025, Tan ranked sixth in the global list of 100 Most Powerful Women in business.
Second place of the 2025 edition went to the founder of Chinese tech manufacturer and Apple supplier Luxshare, Grace Wang.
Third place went to Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou, who recently began a six-month term as the company's rotating chair.
