Blood Moon lunar eclipse visible despite cloudy skies over S'pore on Sep. 8
Very on brand for seventh month.
In the early hours of Sep. 8, shadows between the Sun and the Earth fell on the moon, tinting it a deep copper-red.
Given how rare the celestial phenomenon was, astrophotographers across Singapore turned up in full force to capture the "Blood Moon" full lunar eclipse in all his glory.
Here's what they saw.
From Marina Bay
One photographer, Simon Lim, went to the Marina Barrage with a group of friends to get his shots.
It was "very cloudy", but they went ahead anyway, he told Mothership.

They managed to catch the rare phenomenon until the full eclipse at 2:11am, after which it vanished for the rest of the night.
He shared his photos, as well as a timelapse of the eclipse, in a Facebook post.

Another photographer, Mervyn Soon, managed to capture the eclipse, despite the "tough cloudy conditions".
"It got more challenging as more clouds came and covered the entire sky," he explained.

In the same vicinity over at Marina Bay Sands, Singaporean photographer Basil got a nice shot of the eclipse.
Because of the constant moving cloud, there were "only a few 30-second to 1-minute windows for me to shoot the eclipse, making this a really challenging shoot", he explained.

He also captured the full moon rising earlier at the Queenstown area.
