A new Chinese electric vehicle (EV) brand has launched in Singapore, introducing more EV models for budget-conscious consumers.
JMEV showcased its first model in Singapore at Valor Auto's showroom at Telok Kurau Road on Jul. 29.
The Elight EV is a four-door, five-seater sedan that qualifies for a Category A COE, with an electric drivetrain that produces 145hp and 225Nm of torque, according to sgcartmart.
The 108kW electric motor has a 63kWh battery and can deliver a range of up to 600km in urban traffic conditions.
The sleek car also has a 360° panoramic camera and LED headlights, as well as a panoramic moon roof and a 14.6" multimedia touchscreen, as advertised by JMEV.
Elight can recharge up to 80 per cent in less than 30 minutes.
It comes in five different colour variations: white, black, purple, green, and blue.
A sneak peek of the model was first previewed at the Car Expo 2025 in May this year.
The brand is currently offering a special promotion for Elight in light of SG60, bringing the car's price down to S$156,888 including COE.
The promotion will only run til Aug. 6.
More information on the car can be found here.
Chinese car brands appear to be slowly dominating the market in Singapore, with Chinese EV automaker BYD becoming the best-selling car brand in the first four months of 2025 in Singapore.
