In a Jul. 31 TikTok video, he shared that he had ordered the herbal chicken soup at Ba Wang Claypot, a restaurant in Hougang Green Shopping Mall.
Almost done eating it
By the time he noticed the unwelcome addition, he had almost finished the soup, he said in the comments.
When he told the staff, he was informed that they would not charge him for the soup.

Offered money to take down post
In an update to the post, he said the owner of the store offered him S$128 in compensation and asked him to take the video down.
As of Aug. 4, the clip has garnered over 239,000 views.
He also made a report with the Singapore Food Agency (SFA).
The diner told Mothership that he didn't respond to the offer for compensation.
"What can S$128 do for me?" he said, adding that he had a stomachache after.
He also said that the restaurant still charged him for the rest of the meal.
SFA, restaurant's response
In response to Mothership's queries, an SFA spokesperson said it is looking into the matter:
"SFA takes a serious view towards food safety and will investigate all feedback alleging poor food safety practices.
As part of the enquiry and gathering of evidence, SFA may engage the feedback provider for more details and will not hesitate to take enforcement action if sufficient evidence has been obtained."
Members of the public with concerns about food safety practices by food operators can submit a report with SFA via this feedback form.
The restaurant, on the other hand, told Shin Min Daily News on Aug. 2 that they'd suspended business for one day to carry out deep cleaning and retrain their employees.
They also threw away the affected ingredients.
