South Korean actor Song Young Kyu, best known for the 2019 comedy film "Extreme Job", was found dead on Aug. 4 inside a car.

Song was discovered by an acquaintance at around 8am.

The car was in a residential complex in Yongin, just south of Seoul reported Yonhap News Agency.

There was no sign of foul play and no suicide note, police said.

Song was 55 years old at the time of his death.

Drunk driving controversy

The actor recently came under the spotlight when he was caught by the police for drunk driving in June.

He was reportedly driving the vehicle himself after drinking with his acquaintances.

Two dramas that he was appearing in at that time, "The Defects" and "The Winning Try", had announced that they would be editing Song out of the shows as much as possible without affecting the development of the story.

He also stepped down from a stage play he was originally slated to be a part of.

Song, who made his debut in a 1994 children's musical, has appeared in a variety of dramas, such as "Hot Stove League" and "Hwarang".

He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
