S'pore public holidays 2026: 6 long weekends available, so plan your leave now

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has released the dates of the 11 gazetted public holidays for 2026.

As per previous years, there are several long weekends.

Six of them include:

New Year's Day: Jan. 1, 2026 (Thursday)

Chinese New Year: Feb. 17 and 18, 2026 (Tuesday, Wednesday)

Hari Raya Puasa: Mar. 21, 2026 (Saturday, subject to confirmation)

Good Friday: Apr. 3, 2026 (Friday)

Labour Day: May 1, 2026 (Friday)

Hari Raya Haji: May 27, 2026 (Wednesday, subject to confirmation)

Vesak Day: May 31, 2026 (Sunday)

National Day: Aug. 9, 2026 (Sunday)

Deepavali: Nov. 8, 2026 (Sunday)

Christmas Day: Dec. 25, 2026 (Friday)

In accordance with the Employment Act, employees are entitled to 11 paid public holidays as indicated.

Employers and employees may mutually agree to substitute a public holiday for another working day.

Employees who are required to work on a public holiday are entitled to an extra day’s salary at the basic rate of pay, in addition to their gross rate of pay for that day.
