A parking warden in Singapore was seen breaking out his measuring tape to carry out his enforcement duties.
His dedication to precision was shared online, eliciting comments that ranged from, "I have never seen a parking warden with a measuring tape before" to "That's fine."
What video showed
In the approximately one-minute video posted to the Roads.sg Facebook on May 30, a Certis Cisco parking warden could be seen using a long retractable measuring tape to seemingly measure the distance of the rear of a parked grey car that had protruded out onto a T-junction along Swanage Road in Tanjong Katong.
He did this presumably before issuing a fine as it was judged that a parking offence had been encountered.
The officer was also seen snapping a photo of the car with the measuring tape laid out as evidence.
Online commenters praised the officer's meticulousness and "job excellence", while joking that he "should be deployed to work for HDB".
"With him around all common corridors will be free from cluster", a commenter quipped.
Others suggested that with the photo, there is "no need to argue" if the car's owner tried to appeal the fine.
Meanwhile, some others took to the video less well, questioning if the officer had to give no room for appeal.
One wrote: "Eyeball can liao. No?"
According to Singapore's road traffic laws, a car cannot be parked within 6m of an intersection or junction of any road or street.
The video has since garnered nearly 600,000 views.
