Another dead cat found at Yishun HDB block, surrounded by faeces
No visible injuries were observed.
Another cat has been found dead in Yishun under unusual circumstances.
The incident occurred at around 3am on Jun. 1.
The carcass was discovered at Block 510A Yishun Street 51 — just one block away from where King Kong, a well-known community cat, was previously found dead in a horrific state.
The discovery was shared in the Facebook group Sayang Our Singapore's Community Cats by Janet, an active member of the community.

Legs split in awkward position
According to Janet, a young resident who regularly checks on the community cats in the area came across the black-and-white cat's body.
Its legs were splayed in an awkward position, raising suspicions about the nature of its death.
Unsure of what to do, she buried the carcass nearby with the help of another resident.

The second resident later reached out to Janet, who advised the girl to lodge a police report.
Janet also filed a report with the NParks.
Carcass taken for postmortem examination
“I have pleaded to NParks to take in the body to do a postmortem as it seemed to be an unnatural death,” Janet told Mothership.
The carcass was later exhumed so that an NParks contractor could collect it for possible examination.

When asked why she believed the death was unnatural, Janet cited the awkward positioning of the cat’s legs and the presence of faeces around the body.
No other visible injuries were observed.
Janet added that the area is monitored by police CCTV cameras and expressed hope that footage would help uncover what happened.
In response to Mothership's queries, NParks said they take all feedback received from the public on animal matters seriously.
"NParks received feedback on a cat found dead at the foot of a staircase at Yishun Street 51 and is looking into the matter. We urge the public not to speculate on the details of the case and allow investigations to run its proper course."
Concerns on cat welfare
The discovery is the latest in a series of cat deaths reported across Singapore.
In light of the incident, Janet told Mothership that she has increased the reward for information about King Kong’s death to S$5,000, given the proximity of the new case to where King Kong was found.
King Kong was found dead on May 9 with its guts hanging out and eyes gouged out.
In response to queries from Mothership then, NParks said they received feedback on a cat found dead at Yishun Street 51 and were looking into the matter.
"The National Parks Board (NParks) takes all feedback received from the public on animal cruelty seriously. NParks has received feedback on a cat found dead at Yishun Street 51 and is looking into the matter.
Members of the public can play a part by promptly reporting suspected cases of animal cruelty to NParks or providing potential evidence via our website at https://www.nparks.gov.sg/feedback-and-enquiry, or call us via our Animal Response Centre at 1800-476-1600. As with all investigations, all forms of evidence are crucial to the process, and photographic and/or video-graphic evidence provided by the public will help."
