A girl was using a toilet at a junior college in Singapore in July 2024 when she noticed a boy was peeping through the gap below the divider of her cubicle.

Realising that he had been caught red-handed, the boy left the female toilet immediately, reported Shin Min Daily News.

When the girl exited the toilet and realised the boy was nowhere to be found, she reported the incident to her school and was brought to lodge a police report.

On May 27, 2025, the boy, now 16, was sentenced to 18 months' probation after admitting to his offences, reported CNA.

According to court documents seen by Shin Min, the boy had claimed that he committed his offences because he was "curious about the female anatomy and how girls use the toilet".

Trespassed into female toilet after getting caught red-handed

Court documents revealed that the boy committed his offences on Jul. 18, 2024, when he entered a female toilet in the junior college twice at 2:58pm and 3:13pm.

However, during both attempts, he did not bump into any female students.

At 3:48pm, the boy returned to the toilet again and sat in one of the cubicles.

When he heard sounds coming from the cubicle next to him, he lowered his head through the gap below the divider and observed the victim.

Although the victim was shocked when she noticed the boy, she did not dare to scream or move.

After the boy left the toilet, the victim walked out of the toilet and reported the incident to the school and the police.

Nevertheless, the boy continued trespassing into a female toilet on two more occasions the next day to peep at women.

Sentenced to probation, community service

For his offences, the boy faced six charges in total, including trespass and voyeurism, reported Shin Min.

On May 27, 2025, the boy was sentenced to 18 months' probation and ordered to perform 60 hours of community service after pleading guilty to two of the charges.

He was also placed under a curfew and ordered to undergo psychological or psychiatric treatment if necessary.

During his probation period, his parents were also placed on a S$5,000 bond, according to CNA.
