Air India flight bound for New Delhi makes emergency landing in Phuket airport due to bomb threat
It made a loop after leaving Phuket airport.
An Air India flight from Phuket, Thailand bound for capital New Delhi in India made an emergency landing back at the airport on Jun. 13 after a bomb threat was received on board.
The information was disclosed by Phuket's airport authorities, Reuters reported.
Flight AI 379 landed safely and the airport proceeded with emergency plans, an official said.
Passengers were being escorted from the plane.
There were 156 passengers on the flight and the bomb threat was recieved on board the plane, an Airports of Thailand (AOT) official said in a statement.
The aircraft took off from Phuket airport for the Indian capital at 9:30am on Friday.
It made a wide loop around the Andaman Sea and landed back at the Thai island, according to flight tracker Flightradar24.
AOT did not provide details on the bomb threat.
