A heartbreaking image has appeared in the wake of the Air India flight AI171 crash on Jun. 12 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The wefie photo showed a doctor couple and their three children onboard posing for a photo in the plane's cabin before the tragedy.

Relocating to London

The family from Rajasthan was marking a new chapter as they were relocating to London, NDTV reported.

The mother, Komi Vyas, who was a doctor like her husband, had recently left her job at a hospital in Udaipur.

She was joining her husband, Prateek Joshi, in London with their three children — five-year-old twin boys and an eight-year-old daughter.

Joshi had just arrived at Ahmedabad two days before the flight on Jun. 12, his cousin said.

The family is likely among the mass fatalities following the disaster.

Smiling for the camera

In the selfie taken in the aircraft moments before the tragedy, the family could be seen smiling widely for the camera.

The couple were married 10 years ago.

Joshi’s father is a renowned radiologist, and Vyas’ father was an officer in the Public Works Department, according to neighbours, as reported by NDTV.
