“We look forward to partnering with the Gates Foundation," Managing Director at Singapore Economic Development Board said.

Gates Foundation, a non-profit organisation chaired by billionaire Bill Gates, announced its plan to establish its presence in Singapore.
The organisation's establishment of presence in Singapore was supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).
Jermaine Loy, Managing Director at EDB, said: “We look forward to partnering with the Gates Foundation to scale impactful solutions across Southeast Asia and beyond, tapping on Singapore’s status as a hub for innovation."
According to The Edge Singpore, Gates said at the Philanthropy Asia Summit that the foundation will set up an office in Singapore.
S'pore an ideal hub
In a press release, the foundation said that its Singapore presence reflects its commitment to work alongside countries and partners to help more people live healthy and productive lives, and to accelerate progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Gates Foundation also said it plans to strengthen its partnership with the government, philanthropies, and institutions across Southeast Asia through Singapore.
Hari Menon, a director who oversees Gates Foundation's South and Southeast Asia work, says that Singapore's leadership in innovation and philanthropy makes it an "ideal hub to help scale solutions that improve lives across the region and beyond".
