A woman took to social media to document the voting process in a polling centre despite being aware that recording activity was prohibited.

The woman posted a video on social media to film herself voting on Polling Day (May 3).

In the video, the woman, who spoke in Mandarin, said that she was aware that the taking of photos and videos was strictly prohibited, but she "secretly" did so anyway.

The clip proceeded to show the polling station where she was voting.

The video also contained a 2-second clip of the voting booth as well as the woman's ballot paper.

The ballot paper indicated that the woman was voting in Sengkang GRC.

No recording allowed

According to the Elections Department (ELD), voters are not allowed to bring any camera, video, or photographic equipment into the polling station.

They are also not allowed to use their handphones in the polling station.

In response to the woman's video, a TikTok user said they have lodged a police report.
