
A 24-year-old man was arrested in relation to a case of voyeurism at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) on May 6 night.
In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Police Force confirmed they were alerted to the case at 50 Nanyang Avenue, which is NTU's address, at around 9:50pm on Tuesday.
Police investigations are ongoing.
Rumours about the reason behind the man's arrest were circulated on social media.
Man attempted to access female toilet: NTU
In response to Mothership's queries, a Nanyang Technological University spokesperson confirmed that the man was a student of the university.
According to the spokesperson, the student was detained by campus security on May 6 evening after he was seen outside a female toilet at a residential hall.
His attempts to access the toilet were unsuccessful, said the spokesperson.
The police were alerted and arrested the student at the scene.
"As a precaution, the female toilets at the hall were checked for hidden cameras or recording devices. None were found," read the statement.
