Motorcycle repeatedly cuts in front of lorry over 1.7km stretch along KPE, police looking into matter

A motorcycle was seen repeatedly cutting in front of a lorry as both vehicles weaved in and out of traffic across all three lanes of the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) on Apr. 17 at about 6pm.

A video of the incident was posted online on Apr. 17.

There were many other road users travelling along the expressway at the time.

What video showed

The incident was caught on the dashcam of a vehicle travelling along the KPE towards Punggol.

The footage uploaded showed the motorcycle ahead of the lorry, with both vehicles travelling along the right-most lane past the DHL Supply Chain building on the right.

The lorry was then seen filtering to the middle lane and the motorcycle did likewise, before filtering back to the right-most lane again.

The motorcycle followed suit.

The lorry could be seen driving close to the right-hand side of the road, perhaps in a bid to overtake the motorcycle, but failed to do so.

It then cut to the left-most lane and the motorcycle continued to block its way by trailing closely ahead of it.

When it appeared that the lorry was going to get off KPE at the Buangkok Drive exit with the motorcycle still ahead of it, the lorry suddenly filtered right and stayed on the expressway.

The motorcycle did the same to continue to block the lorry's way.

The motorcyclist then made a gesture with his hand at the lorry driver.

Stopped on right-most lane

For the next 40 seconds, the lorry and motorcycle continued to filter from left to right multiple times, before the motorcycle stopped in front of the lorry on the right-most lane near the Punggol Central exit.

The video then cut off.

In total, the two vehicles were seen travelling erratically for more than one-and-a-half minutes over a 1.7km stretch.

In response to Mothership's queries, the police confirmed a report was lodged and are looking into the matter.
