Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has finished visiting all of Singapore's constituencies on Apr. 20, 11 months after assuming office.

"Wrapped up my final constituency visit at Sembawang GRC this morning (Apr. 20) — marking a full year of engaging communities across the island," PM Wong wrote on a Facebook post.

Shortly after being inaugurated as Prime Minister, PM Wong said that he planned on going on many "listening visits" around all the constituencies in Singapore to spend time on the ground and connect with as many Singaporeans as he could.

He started the "listening visits" by attending the Tampines Learning Festival 2024 at Tampines East Community Centre on Jun. 15, 2024.

Last of "listening visits"

His visit to the Sembawang Health Carnival on Sunday (Apr. 20) marks the last of his "listening visits".

His arrival was a surprise to more than the 1,000 residents present at the event, The Straits Times (ST) reported.

“In the past year, I have been going around visiting different constituencies. Today, I am here in Sembawang. In fact, this is the last stop. I saved the best for last,” PM Wong said, earning cheers from residents.

PM Wong thanked the Sembawang residents for welcoming him.

He noted that the nation has come far since independence, and that Singapore's best days are still ahead despite "so many dark clouds, so many challenges in the world", including conflicts, and economic uncertainty.

Stay together, stay united

“(It is) all the more important this little red dot, all of us, stay together, stay united. And if we do that, I am confident we can overcome whatever challenges lie ahead,” PM Wong said, as quoted by ST.

PM Wong said that while Singapore is a multicultural and multi-religious society, its people are all one family.

"Different communities, different faiths, different religions, we celebrate together as one Singapore family. So, let us continue – regardless of race, language or religion, we are all Singaporeans together.”
