Fire breaks out at People's Park Complex, 6 people taken to hospital
The fire was on the sixth floor.
A fire broke out at People's Park Complex in Chinatown in the early hours of Apr. 21.
Six people were conveyed to hospital for smoke inhalation, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), who were alerted to the fire at about 4:35am.
Photos on social media showed a part of the exterior walls of the 31-floor building blackened.
Emergency vehicles were also seen outside the building with commercial units on the lower floors and residential housing on the upper floors.

SCDF said the fire involved cleaning supplies and equipment in a storage area on the sixth floor.
It was subsequently extinguished using a water jet.
In a post on Xiaohongshu, a user wrote that she was "suddenly awakened by a loud noise downstairs".
She smelled something burning and saw that the living room was full of smoke.
Afraid, she woke everyone else in the house and they evacuated the building via the stairs.
She added that she later found out that the fire had taken place right below their floor.
But the fire alarm did not go off, she claimed.
"My legs were shaking... Whether I woke up or not was all up to luck," she said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
