Carried son on shoulders
Local celebrity Darren Lim posted a video of him encountering the flash flood in Bukit Timah.
The 52-year-old was there to pick his son up from tuition, he said in a video where he carried his child on his shoulders as they waded through the shin-deep waters.
They were near Bukit Timah Neighbourhood Police Centre.
He could be heard telling his son sitting on his shoulders to watch his head as they walked out of the shelter.
The camera panned down and showed the water levels reaching Lim's shins.
He was dressed in trousers at the time.
Lim said: "Elliot, is this fun or not?"
Lim was walking to his car parked at the Adam Food Centre car park.
He added: "See, how chaotic. Oh man."
Lim is married to fellow celebrity Evelyn Tan, 50.
The couple have a daughter, Kristen, 20, and three sons, Jairus, 18, Way, 16, and Elliott, 12.
The affected areas were Bukit Timah Road, between Clementi Road and Blackmore Drive; Kings Road, between Prince Road and Lutheran Road; the junction between Stevens Road and Balmoral Road; and Coronation Walk.
National water agency PUB deployed its officers there to render assistance.
By 6:20pm, PUB said in updates that waters had subsided in all affected areas.
