WP's Andre Low spotted at Deyi Secondary, the nomination centre for Jalan Kayu SMC

Workers' Party's (WP) Andre Low has been spotted arriving at Deyi Secondary School, one of the nine nomination centres.

Here are the GRCs the nomination center covers:

• Ang Mo Kio GRC
• Jalan Kayu SMC
• Kebun Baru SMC
• Yio Chu Kang GRC

It is possible that Low will be nominated as candidate for Jalan Kayu SMC.

If so, Low will be going up against the People's Action Party's Ng Chee Meng.

Low, 34, started as a disputes lawyer in a large law firm before venturing out into the startup space, helping to build products in legal tech, urban mobility, and health tech.

He is a secretarial assistant to former Sengkang Member of Parliament (MP) Louis Chua.

Contest

Deyi Secondary is the nomination centre for Ang Mo Kio GRC, Jalan Kayu SMC, Kebun Baru SMC and Yio Chu Kang SMC.

There was previously some speculation surrounding the opposition candidate that will be fielded at Jalan Kayu SMC, in particular.

Red Dot United initially revealed Kala Manickam as its "groundwork leader" for the SMC.

However, they announced on Apr. 22 that they will be stepping aside after the WP expressed their wish to campaign there.
