3rd flash flood in Yishun Ave 7 in 9 days
Second consecutive day of flash floods in Singapore.
A flash flood occurred in Yishun Avenue 7 near the intersection of Yishun Street 22 on Apr. 21 afternoon due to heavy rain.
This was the third flash flood in Yishun in the last nine days.
It was the second consecutive day of flash floods being reported in Singapore.
National water agency PUB said at about 3:30pm on Monday that its officers were deployed to help those affected.
The flash flood subsided after about 25 minutes.
On Apr. 15, Yishun Avenue 7, near the intersection with Yishun Street 22, was affected by flash floods due to heavy rain.
On Apr. 13, Yishun Avenue 7 was also affected by flash floods.
The Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) slip road to Buangkok East Drive and the Punggol Way slip road to the Tampines Expressway (TPE) also experienced flash floods that day.
Second consecutive day of flash floods
Heavy rain on Sunday, Apr. 20 afternoon led to flash floods in several parts of Bukit Timah.
PUB issued flash flood risk warnings for 18 locations, including Paya Lebar, Orchard Road, Thomson Road, Toa Payoh, and Boon Lay.
The Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) said on Apr. 16 that short thundery showers are expected over parts of the island in the afternoon on most days.
The heaviest precipitation recorded on Apr. 13 saw 117mm of rainfall measured around the Yishun Ring Road area, making it the highest daily rainfall recorded for the first half of the month.
