A 19-year-old Mercedes-Benz driver allegedly involved in a fatal crash in Johor, Malaysia that killed five people, including a 10-year-old girl, has been remanded for two days.
According to NST, the teen, who is reportedly a student at a university in Singapore, was brought to the Batu Pahat Magistrate’s Court at about 10:20am for remand proceedings.
NST did not name the university in question.
Magistrate Mustaqim Sukarno later issued a two-day remand order to facilitate investigations under Section 42(1) of Malaysia’s Road Transport Act 1987 for dangerous and reckless driving.

Crash allegedly happened while brothers were racing
A five-vehicle crash in Johor on Jun. 1 killed five people after a BMW 530e allegedly travelling at high speed lost control and collided with several vehicles.
The crash took place at around 1.15pm along Jalan Renggam–Simpang Renggam in Kluang.
The BMW, allegedly driven by a 22-year-old man, was supposedly travelling at high speed alongside a Mercedes-Benz A250 driven by his 19-year-old younger brother.
Police said that the BMW later lost control, entered the opposite lane and collided with four vehicles, including a Toyota Vios carrying a family of four.
The BMW driver later died while being taken to hospital.
