A 14-year-old girl in Singapore was allegedly assaulted by a group of at least seven other girls at the carpark of a mall along Orchard Road.
What happened
Speaking to Mothership, the girl's mother said the incident took place at the mall's 11th floor carpark on May 3 at around 10pm.
She said her daughter had supposedly been "lured" to the location and "ambushed" by the group, four of whom her daughter knew.
While others were present at the scene, they were friends of the group, making it difficult for her daughter to leave, she added.
Her daughter was allegedly kicked, punched and slapped during the assault, which the family believes lasted around 40 minutes.

The incident purportedly ended after her daughter sustained a hard blow to the head, at which point the group appeared concerned about her condition and briefly checked on her before dispersing.
A video of the incident is understood to have been circulated within the group.
Still in pain and in shock, the girl subsequently made her way to The Centrepoint shopping mall along Orchard Road before proceeding to her grandmother's home, where she called her mother to inform her of what had happened.
Paramedics dispatched
A police report was made, following which officers and paramedics were dispatched to the grandmother's home.
In response to Mothership's queries, police confirmed received a call for assistance at around 11:25pm on May 3.
A 14-year-old female teenager was conveyed conscious to the hospital.
Seven female teenagers, aged between 12 and 17, were subsequently arrested for rioting.
Investigations are ongoing.
Hospitalised for nine days
According to her mother, the girl was hospitalised for nine days.
Upon admission to the hospital, she had a swollen and bruised face with abrasions, swollen and ringing ears, nosebleeds, blood clots around the eye area, bumps on her head, and bruising across her body.
Her shirt also bore shoe prints from the kicking.
The mother added that her daughter has difficulty fully recalling parts of the incident, particularly after sustaining blows to her head and ears.
The family also described the experience as "extremely painful".
"Beyond the physical injuries and nine-day hospitalisation, the emotional and psychological impact on our daughter has been significant," the mother said, adding that her daughter continues to undergo treatment and recovery.
