A stunt performer at Universal Studios Singapore's WaterWorld suffered a medical emergency during an off-show training session on May 19.
Mothership understands that the performer was allegedly in the attraction's show pool around the time of the incident.
Mothership also understands that cardio-pulmonary resuscitation was carried out, and the performer was later taken to the hospital.
Responding to Mothership's queries, a Resorts World Singapore (RWS) spokesperson confirmed that a performer engaged by an appointed vendor for WaterWorld experienced a medical emergency during a training session on May 19.
"His fellow performers noticed he was in distress and rendered immediate assistance," the spokesperson said.
Emergency services were called, and the performer was conveyed to the hospital by ambulance.
"Our thoughts are with the performer and his family during this difficult time. Out of respect for the performer and his family’s privacy, we are unable to share more about his condition," the spokesperson added.
The spokesperson also said that training is conducted with safety protocols in place and that RWS is "reviewing the circumstances of the incident together with the performer's employer".
Responding to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said that it received a call for assistance at 30 Sentosa Gateway at about 10:35am on May 19.
One person was conveyed to Singapore General Hospital.
Mothership has reached out to the employer, described as an industry leader in live action stunts, for more information.
According to the RWS website, WaterWorld is temporarily closed until Dec. 31, 2026. However, the temporary closure appears to have been in place long before this incident.
