The feud between ex-actor Huang Yiliang and his neighbouring chicken rice hawker has apparently led to long wait times at Huang's seafood stall at Circuit Road Hawker Centre, with one TikTok user apparently waiting three hours to get his order.

The user, @heygalvinbay4, detailed his culinary experience in a May 20 TikTok video.

He said he decided to visit Huang's stall to try the "viral" crab beehoon and see "if the hype is real".

"Chaotic" system

The user noted that Huang's stall was "already mobbed" by 5:30pm.

His friend arrived around 5pm, but only received a buzzer at 6:20pm.

@heygalvinbay4 explained that the system at Huang's stall was "chaotic".

"You pay for fish first, but the buzzer only gives you the right to buy the crab later," the user explained.

The TikToker also observed that Huang now has a male assistant, but "the poor guy was being chided all night".

After three hours' wait, the TikToker got his food.

He said the steamed fish was "simple, light and delicious" while the crab bee hoon was "light and creamy" like a high-end fish soup, although he preferred chilli or black pepper crab.

The user also got to take photos with the former actor, which he called "the highlight of the night" and said he was "starstruck."

Come for the drama

The user's final verdict was, "Don't come for the food. Come for the celebrity drama and a three-hour, cheap thrill hang out session with your buddies."

The user also responded to some questions in the comment section.

The TikToker shared that Huang's crab beehoon costs S$40, but commenters say it's worth it as the portion looked big.

One commenter suggested being encouraging towards the new male assistant, to which the TikToker replied that he can't imagine Huang going at it alone.

Another commenter suggested three hours was too long a wait.

Background

Huang and his neighbouring hawker got into a feud after rumours spread about Huang "sleeping" with his female assistant.

On one occasion, Huang was reportedly struck on the back of his right ear by the neighbouring hawker's husband.

Customers were also filmed losing their temper, with one seen getting angry after being refused by Huang when he wanted to order more crabs.

The ex-actor explained that crab supply is not abundant of late as it is not crab season, and so he has limited the number of portions each customer can order.
