Thai princess in coma for over 3 years experiencing unstable vital signs after infection

Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol, the Thai king's eldest daughter, fell ill during a military dog training session in December 2022.

According to The Bangkok Post, she was sent to King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital.

According to Reuters, she has been in a coma there ever since.

The royal medical team made a statement recently regarding the princess's health.

In it, they said that doctors had detected an abdominal infection caused by the inflammation of the large intestine in April.

This has caused Bajrakitiyabha's condition to become unstable. This has also led to low blood pressure, irregular heartbeat and abnormal blood clotting.

Despite the doctors' best efforts, her condition has continued to deteriorate.

According to The Bangkok Post, the condition indicates an "uncontrolled, severe infection, which is affecting the function of several major organ systems".

The medical team is continuing to monitor the situation.
