M'sia man, in his 30s, found dead in a drain after suspected hit-and-run by black SUV
The driver had allegedly fled from the scene.

A man was found dead in a two-metre-deep drain in Klang, Malaysia, after he was believed to have been hit by a vehicle in the early hours of Wednesday (May 13.
The incident took place along Jalan Kapar, Batu 5, in Klang at around 3am.
Found in deep drain
The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department received a call about the incident at 3:23am, according to its operations assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, reported Free Malaysia Today (FMT).
“Seven officers and personnel in a fire engine from the Kapar station were dispatched to the scene,” Ahmad said.
The fire team arrived at the location about five minutes later and found the victim, who was believed to be in his 30s, according to The Star, in the two-metre-deep drain.
Firefighters later lifted the victim onto a stretcher before Ministry of Health personnel confirmed that he had died at the scene.
Black SUV believed to have hit pedestrian
Klang Utara police chief S Vijaya Rao said the victim was believed to be a Bangladeshi national and had been struck by a sport utility vehicle (SUV) in a hit-and-run, according to FMT.
The victim is also allegedly an Air Selangor contractor carrying out work in the nearby area.
“Preliminary investigations found that the incident occurred when a black SUV travelling from Klang towards Kapar was believed to have lost control before hitting a pedestrian on the roadside,” he said.
“As a result of the impact, the man was thrown into a drain, while the driver fled the scene. The victim was confirmed dead at the scene due to severe abdominal injuries.”
The case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of Malaysia’s Road Transport Act 1987.
