A woman claimed she was hit by a cyclist while walking along Bukit Timah’s Rail Corridor, before allegedly being kicked in the chest during a confrontation that ensued.
According to the woman, the cyclist did not apologise after the collision.
Instead, he allegedly accused her and her family of taking up too much space on the path, reported Shin Min Daily News.
Collided while taking pictures
The incident took place at around 11am on May 19.
Su (transliterated), 55, said she was taking pictures along the Rail Corridor with her sister and husband.
She said there were not many people around and there was still enough space for others to pass by on her husband's side.
Then, a man on a mountain bike sped towards them, trying to pass between her and her sister.
This resulted in him hitting her from behind.
Su claimed that they were facing away from the cyclist, who did not ring the bell or say anything to warn them about his presence.
Did not apologise
Su said the cyclist looked impatient and did not apologise.
Instead, he rudely accused them of taking up too much space.
She then grabbed the bicycle handlebars, tried to stop him from leaving, but was pushed away.
Su's husband then argued with the cyclist in English, she said.
During this confrontation, the man allegedly became agitated and punched the air, accidentally grazing the left jaw of Su's husband.
He then allegedly kicked Su in the chest.
The sole of his shoe even left a dirt marking on her shirt, she said.
Left and returned
Su said the cyclist eventually left, but then returned to the scene about a minute later.
He apologised and asked in English if they had seen his "computer".
Su said they were puzzled by the question and did not see anything on the ground.
She took the opportunity to photograph the man, who then left quickly.
They called the police later that night.
The Singapore Police Force confirmed with Shin Min that they have received a report.
