A metal bar fell during dismantling works at an upper floor of integrated development Chong Pang City construction site on May 2, 2026 and landed onto a nearby Housing and Development Board (HDB) residential block.
Part of the roof along the common corridor of Block 103 Yishun Ring Road was damaged.
There were no reported injuries and no damage to the interior of the flats, the Singapore Land Authority said in a May 3 news release.
SLA said it was informed of the incident by the main contractor Rich Construction Company Pte Ltd.
A professional engineer has assessed the damage and confirmed that the overall roof structural system is intact and safe.
Residents can continue to use the common area and access the corridor except for the affected area, which is cordoned off as a precautionary measure, SLA added.
Rectification works will be carried out as soon as possible.
A stop work order has been issued for Chong Pang City construction site, pending a full investigation into the incident.
The main contractor is currently working with relevant authorities to determine the cause.
