Woman, 19, found with 61 stab wounds near padi field in M'sia, boyfriend a suspect

A 19-year-old woman was found with 61 stab wounds near a padi field in Kelantan, Malaysia on Apr. 30 night.

The alleged stabbing occurred at Kampung Simah in Ketereh.

The victim, a college student, was from the state of Perak.

She had just returned to her Ketereh college campus to start a new semester a week ago.

Body found by the road

As her body was discovered along the road, passers-by initially thought she was a victim of a traffic accident.

However, authorities later discovered that she was a victim of a crime as she had stab wounds all over her, including her face and feet.

The majority of her wounds were concentrated on the right side of her body, Malaysia Chinese media reported.

What allegedly happened

The victim had apparently dined two persons just before her passing, it was also reported.

The first person she dined with was not her boyfriend.

She subsequently posted about having a meal with her boyfriend at about 11pm.

Her body was subsequently found at 12:30am.

Boyfriend a suspect

Investigators suspect the victim was stabbed to death by her 19-year-old boyfriend, who allegedly believed she was having an affair.

Initial investigations showed that an argument broke out between the victim and the suspect.

She is believed to have been stabbed while inside the suspect’s car.

4 arrested

The boyfriend, identified as the main suspect, was arrested on May 1 alongside another youth believed to be a friend of the victim.

The boyfriend’s parents, a 66-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman, were also detained.

In total, three men and one woman were arrested at two separate locations following raids, Bernama reported.

All those arrested had no criminal record, and their urine tests came back negative for drugs, Kelantan police said.

A knife, two cars, two mobile phones, a set of clothing, and a pair of slippers, were among the things seized.

The case is being investigated as a murder.
