Chinese national, 27, dies after falling from height at M'sia KLIA, police investigating
She was scheduled to return to China on a May 2 flight.
A 27-year-old Chinese national has died after falling from Level 3 at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 2 on the afternoon of May 1.
According to Malaysian police, the incident occurred at around 2:20pm.
KLIA police chief M Ravi said in a statement that the woman had been seen sitting outside a balcony area while crying and “screaming aggressively”, according to a Facebook post by the KLIA police.
In a video circulating on social media, security personnel and airport staff could be seen attempting to get help.
Woman reportedly jumped into loading bay area
Ravi said a KLIA security officer later approached the woman in an attempt to get her to safety, but she allegedly struggled before jumping into the loading bay area at KLIA 2.
Emergency medical personnel attended to the woman at the scene before she was taken to Putrajaya Hospital for further treatment.
She was pronounced dead at 5:09pm.

Police investigations found that the woman was a Chinese citizen, and had been scheduled to return to China on a May 2 flight.
Her death has currently been classified as a sudden death, and investigations are ongoing.
