Some residents in Bishan reported items missing from their delivery packages after a deliveryman allegedly left them at the void deck while making other deliveries.
One affected customer, Chen, told Shin Min Daily News that she was expecting two online shopping parcels on Apr. 15 and 18, worth S$26.90 and S$34.20 respectively.
However, courier service J&T Express later informed her that an issue had occurred during the delivery process.
Deliveryman reimbursed loss
The incident took place at Block 175 Bishan Street 13.
Chen said the deliveryman told her that someone had opened the packages he left in front of a CCTV camera at the block and stolen the items inside.
He also sent her photos and videos of the scene.
The footage showed multiple packages torn open, with some items scattered on the ground.
Chen added that the deliveryman later reimbursed her via PayNow.
However, she still has to place a new order, which she described as a hassle.
She said the incident not only caused inconvenience, but also raised concerns about the security of package deliveries.
She said she hopes the authorities will strengthen supervision and preventive measures to avoid similar cases.

A J&T Express spokesperson told Shin Min that the company is aware of the incident and has launched an investigation.
The spokesperson emphasised that the company places great importance on package security and has strict internal policies to ensure parcels are handled safely throughout the delivery process.
They added that J&T Express is assisting affected customers through official channels.
Customers facing issues with their deliveries are encouraged to contact the customer service team via email.
