Three Singaporean men were charged in court on Apr. 10 over cheating offences linked to a government contract.

Two of them were the directors of SwiftX Solutions, an IT services and consultancy company, at the time of the alleged offence in or around 2015.

Chew Lian Wah and Foo Jong Wan were accused of conspiring with Nicholas Lim Chee How, who was a solutions architect of the software company ATOS Information Technology then.

The allegations stated that ATOS had a contract with the government at the time, and Lim had an interest in SwiftX being awarded the subcontract under it.

The three men dishonestly concealed this to cheat ATOS.

They dishonestly induced ATOS to award the subcontract to SwiftX and pay S$535,000 to the company.

ATOS would not have done so if it were not so deceived by the men, and the act is likely to cause harm to ATOS in reputation and property, according to the charges.

If convicted, the three men will each be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison and will also be liable to a fine.

Additional charges for bribery

Lim was also previously charged on Mar. 9 for receiving bribes in relation to the same main contract ATOS had with the government.

Lim was accused of accepting a total of S$125,000 over multiple occasions in 2016 and 2017, from the then-director of IT consultancy company Ten Innovation, Hoo Cheong Hau.

The money was a reward for advancing the business interests of Ten Innovation with ATOS in relation to ATOS's government contract.
