Cambodian woman, 24, beats stepson, 2, to death after he drops soap, tries to cremate him quickly to avoid suspicion

A 24-year-old Cambodian woman was arrested after she beat her stepson to death.

The woman had been at home with her two-year-old stepson when he accidentally dropped the soap.

She kicked him and pushed him against a wall, according to Sin Chew Daily.

Her husband, the boy's father, who was a mechanic, had already gone to work that morning.

She had initially twisted his thigh and beaten him when he dropped the soap.

When the boy kept crying, she started to kick him and assaulted him further.

The boy's body became limp, and his face turned pale, prompting her to bring him to a nearby hospital.

The doctors, however, confirmed that the son was dead.

She then took her stepson to the temple in an attempt to cremate him quickly, claiming he had died of an illness.

The abbot, however, suspected something was off and informed the police.

The woman was later arrested and confessed to the crime.

Autopsy results showed the boy died of a ruptured kidney.
