Ex-girlfriend of Taiwanese actor accuses him of sleeping around & assaulting women, he sues her
At a press conference, she urged him to respect women better.
Taiwanese actor Wish Chu has filed a lawsuit against an ex-girlfriend who recently accused him of cheating, engaging in casual sex, abuse, and drunk driving.
Nian Lin, a singer and influencer, first made the claims on social media at the end of March, sparking great controversy.
She then held a press conference on Apr. 8, where she claimed that other women had messaged her to say Chu had tried to sexually assault them in the past.
Later that day, Chu released a statement signed by his lawyer on his Instagram, refuting Lin's claims as completely untrue.
It added that he has brought a lawsuit against her as her false statements have damaged his reputation.
A short-lived relationship
Chu and Lin were university classmates, and had known each other for over 20 years before deciding to date in August 2025, Lin told Mirror Media.
However, their relationship lasted just eight months, during which the pair argued nearly every day while living together.
Lin claimed that every time they argued, Chu would disappear that night and only return home the next day.
He also allegedly refused to go public about their relationship, saying that it would hurt his career, as Chu had a negative reputation.
"I had already known he would sleep around with women and abuse others, and that he was a jerk," she told Mirror Media. "In the past, I thought this was none of my business. Last year, when we got together, I thought he had grown up and wouldn't fool around anymore, but in the end, he hasn't changed at all. He's still full of lies."
Sleeping around
On Mar. 30, Lin posted on Threads making accusations about an unnamed ex who she said had just moved out three days prior.
She included a photo of a man on a variety show, and though she covered most of his face with text, netizens quickly guessed that he was Chu.
She wrote that he constantly used his status as a celebrity to hook up with girls and would always have condoms with him.
He would often lie that he was visiting his mother, when he was actually going elsewhere, including other women's homes, she added.
Lin also told Mirror Daily that Chu sometimes refused to wear a condom when they had sex, which forced Lin to take birth control pills.
Once, after taking the pill three times in a short period of time, she fainted from severe menstrual cramps and had to be hospitalised.
Chu reacted coldly, according to her, questioning if she knew she was sleeping on the floor, and if she had been tested at the hospital.
Assault
At the press conference, Lin claimed that she had endured emotional abuse by Chu, who sometimes would pinch and scold her.
He had allegedly treated others worse.
Following her controversial social media posts, other women started messaging her to share their experiences of abuse with Chu.
"For example, he forcefully dragged women to the bedroom, and tried to sexually assault women by stripping down their pants, while he had already worn a condom, but he was kicked out by the women," Lin said.
Addressing Chu, she said he should treat women respectfully and responsibly.
"I know I must be brave," she went on to say. "I want to use my experience to warn other women not to meet a person like this."
Chu's response
Chu first responded to Lin's accusations on social media by admitting to the relationship.
He gave a statement on an Instagram story saying that both parties had tried dating but ultimately felt that it was not suitable to continue the relationship.
"If anything happened that made [Lin] uncomfortable during this time, [Chu] sincerely apologises, and truly wishes the best for her. However, if she continues to spread false statements, we will take legal action to protect [Chu's] rights."
Lin's further remarks at the press conference then prompted him to take legal action.
In his lawyer's statement, he denied the accusations regarding drunk driving, sexual assault, and violent abuse, and said that Lin made these allegations without proof.
He added that the claims have already damaged Chu's reputation, and Chu seeks to defend his reputation and innocence through legal proceedings.
