S'pore couple's car gets thrown into the air & flips onto opposite site of M'sia highway, they escape with minor injuries
There were no fatalities.
A Singapore couple's car became airborne and landed upright during an accident along a highway in Malaysia, but they escaped relatively unscathed having only sustained minor injuries.
Their car flipped onto the opposite side of the highway after another car apparently entered their lane suddenly, which caused the Singapore driver to swerve and lose control of his vehicle.
Account of what happened
In an Instagram post put on Mar. 7, user @rajarazie shared that the accident occurred on Friday, Mar. 6, while they were travelling from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur along the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban expressway.
He claimed that they had been "cruising along" until a blue car suddenly entered his lane, which caused him to swerve and lose control of his car.
The car he was driving then hit a lorry, spun and crashed into road divider, causing the car to flip mid-air and land on the opposite side of the highway, he said.
Footage of the accident from the dashcam of another car on the opposite side showed the car that was flipped into the air landing in an upright position.
The user added, "By logic, we shouldn't have survived."
Both of them only sustained minor injuries.
There were also no fatalities from the accident, he said.
The Singapore-registered Toyota Land Cruiser Prado's front and rear were badly damaged.
The father of four concluded his post by writing:
"Surely a traumatic and unforgettable experience especially on our 18th anniversary.
A reminder that life can change in a second. Hug your loved ones a little tighter today."
Mothership has reached out to the Singapore driver for more details.
