WhatsappA 55-year-old Chinese beauty mogul reportedly married a 25-year-old man, her sixth marriage to date.

Yu Wenhong, the founder of Hong Kong medical aesthetics empire Young Merry Real International Group, was said to have given her new husband a whopping dowry worth 50 million yuan (S$9.3 million), reported South China Morning Post.

6th marriage

According to media reports, Yu had been married five times prior.

Her last relationship, when she was 45 years old, was to Albanian model Rolando Lekaj, who was then also 25.

The pair were reportedly together for a decade and had a child together. She also has another child from an earlier relationship.

Yu met her now-husband, Liu Yuchen in the second half of 2025, reported SCMP.

Born in 2001, he had previously worked as a model for her company. Yu reportedly gifted Liu with lavish gifts like a Rolls-Royce and a Mercedes-Benz upon the commencement of the relationship.

When they reportedly married in March 2026, Yu also presented an enormous dowry, including cash, property and luxury cars.

The pair's relationship drew controversy online, with many calling it a gender-reversed version of "a rich man marrying a young female influencer".

"Everyone is playing to their strengths," one netizen said, quoted SCMP. "I hope she signed a solid prenuptial agreement" another wrote.

In a once-viral video, Yu's 17-year-old son noticeably appeared awkward as he stood alongside the couple.

Liu previously addressed the controversy, saying he "never planned to live this kind of life".

"But no one could have expected things to turn out this way. It just landed on me. Who would not want an opportunity like this?" he reportedly said.

Yu also made headlines for her rags-to-riches story, as she was born into a financially modest family in Liaoning, China.

She began working in the beauty industry at 18 years old to support her family after her father died, and later established her own beauty salon.

Online, she has consistently built a "female lead" persona, portraying herself as an independent woman.

"Women must earn money to achieve happiness," she once said, adding "Men are unreliable. Only the money you earn yourself is truly dependable."

Young Merry Real International Group was established in 2004 in Hong Kong, and grew into a business empire, expanding to over 150 shops by 2005.

The brand has also been marred by controversy for its questionable treatment methods, however.

A "porcelain doll" procedure offered by the business involves the extraction of a client's own serum and injecting back into the face to promote skin renewal, allegedly to create smooth and fair skin.

Despite lacking in medical proof of its legitimacy, each session of the treatment can cost up to 15,000 yuan (S$2,796).

Yu was also once caught in a tax scandal, reportedly concealing 4.7 billion yuan (S$876 million) in income and evading 147 million yuan (S$27 million) in taxes.
