ComfortDelGro taxi driver dismissed after driving with door open twice

A ComfortDelGro taxi driver has been dismissed after two videos circulated online showing him driving with his driver's door open.

Both videos were posted to SG Road Vigilante's Facebook page and were circulated widely.

Responding to Mothership's queries, a ComfortDelGro spokesperson said: "We are aware of the two incidents involving the same vehicle, and the driver is no longer with the company."

"Safety is our absolute priority, and we do not tolerate breaches of our safety protocols."

Right door left open

In both videos, the driver could be seen, arm outstretched, holding the door open.

The taxis seen in both videos have the same licence plate number.

The first incident occurred on Feb. 19 at around 6pm along Bartley Road East.

The yellow cab could be seen travelling in between two lanes before settling on the right-most lane.

The person filming expressed her shock and could be heard saying, "he drive very fast some more you know".

At the end of the video, the driver could be seen shutting his door.

The second incident happened on Feb. 24 at around 5:52pm along Jalan Ismail in Kembangan.

The driver again held his car door open whilst driving through a landed estate.

It is unclear whether any passengers were in the vehicle during the incidents.
