S'pore car pumps RON95 petrol: Man, 63, a S'pore PR, & his wife, 67, surrender to M'sia police

Malaysia police said the man, who allegedly refuelled a Singapore-registered car with subsidised RON95 petrol, has surrendered himself.
The man, 63, and his wife, 67, arrived at the Kulai police headquarters to assist with the investigation, Kulai police chief Tan Seng Lee said on Jan. 5.
Tan added that the investigation paper will be processed and referred to the deputy public prosecutor.
What happened
The incident occurred in Kulai on Jan. 2 at about 10:36pm.
A short video on Jan. 3 showed a man refuelling a car with subsidised RON95 fuel meant only for Malaysia-registered vehicles.
The car had its licence plate partially taped up.
A voice off-camera could be heard asking the suspect if he was Malaysian.
The suspect replied that he was.
The Malaysia police said on Jan. 4 that the suspect was identified as a Singapore permanent resident.
The suspect was being investigated under the Road Transport Act 1987 for allegedly exhibiting an altered or tampered vehicle registration number.
The car, a Volkswagen Jetta, was found in Yishun.
