Zouk S'pore closing for 6-month renovation, reopening by June 2026 for 35th anniversary
New year, new Zouk.
Zouk nightclub in Clarke Quay, Singapore will temporarily close from the first quarter of 2026 to undergo a major renovation.
The revamp will see Zouk’s various club spaces shut in phases, as part of what the group has described as a multi-million-dollar renovation aimed at refreshing the club’s design, sound and overall experience.
Closures to take place in phases
Capital will be the first venue to close on Jan. 17, 2026, followed by Phuture and the Zouk Mainroom by the end of March 2026, according to The Straits Times.
The phased approach is intended to minimise disruption, while allowing renovation works to be carried out across the different spaces.
All venues are targeted to reopen by June 2026, aligning with Zouk’s 35th year since it first opened in Singapore in 1991.
Zouk said it expects foot traffic to rise by about 20 per cent after the renovation.
Concert-grade sound, LED walls and increased capacity
Once completed, the upgraded club is expected to feature concert-grade sound systems, large-scale LED walls measuring up to 12m, redesigned entrances and a new premium VIP sofa section, CNA reported.
International creative partners, including design studio Josh Held Design and lighting studio Superlative, have been engaged for the project.
The renovations are also expected to increase the club’s overall capacity to about 3,500 patrons, while introducing a more modular layout that can support a wider range of events, including live music performances and larger scale events.
In 2025, the entertainment and lifestyle brand was granted a five-year lease extension for CQ @ Clarke Quay, which runs until 2031.
Future-proofing the venue
Zouk Group chief executive officer Andrew Li said the renovations are part of a longer-term plan to future-proof the iconic nightlife venue and keep it relevant to evolving audiences.
In a statement, as cited by ST, Li said:
“Zouk’s reinvention of their ‘hometown’ club... will bring fresh energy and expanded experiences that directly support our mission of shaping CQ as a dynamic lifestyle destination.”
He added, according to CNA, that the revamped space would allow Zouk to host a broader mix of events beyond club nights, while maintaining its core identity.
He said: “The investment goes beyond physical upgrades – it's about strengthening the customer experience and deepening the sense of community that has always been at the heart of Zouk.”
