M'sia mechanic repairs delivery rider's motorcycle for free after learning he earned S$2 that day

A food delivery rider in Malaysia was moved to tears after a good Samaritan came to his rescue and repaired his motorcycle for free on Jan. 6.

In a TikTok posted by @minyakhitamjalanan_ on Jan. 7, the mechanic said the rider had fallen off his vehicle after his motorcycle chain got stuck and malfunctioned on the road.

The incident reportedly occurred at around 5pm at the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) in Selangor.

Fell off motorcycle onto road

According to the mechanic, he had received a call for help from the rider while he was in the vicinity.

The rider explained that his motorcycle chain became stuck near the rear sprocket, adding that several people had stopped to help him but were unable to fix the problem.

"I really don't know what to do anymore," he told the mechanic, who then told him to wait for a few minutes.

When he arrived, the rider was seen sitting by the side of the road near his stationary motorcycle.

His hands were also visibly blackened.

According to the mechanic, the rider said he had fallen off his motorcycle after its chain jammed.

He added that it was fortunate that there were no cars behind him when it occurred.

Mechanic repaired the motorcycle, found more broken parts

The mechanic swiftly got to work after retrieving his toolbox.

The video showed him repairing the rear wheel of the motorcycle, including the affected chain.

According to the mechanic, the rider said he had already bought replacement parts but had not had time to install them.

Mechanic did not accept payment, both men teared up

Noticing that the rider's brake pads were "completely worn out", the mechanic also replaced them.

"In my heart I thought, this guy probably doesn't have enough money. Even his brake pads were completely worn out. I changed his brake pads. After about two to three minutes, he called his wife — probably asking her to transfer money."

He added that the rider had earlier told him that he had only completed two delivery orders that day, and "even those were just RM3.50 (S$1) orders".

Moved by the rider's situation, the mechanic later declined payment, telling the rider to consider it a "blessing".

"I still had some infaq (donated) money left, so I used that. He really needed help," he wrote in his caption.

In the video, he said to the rider: "I have experienced it before. I know how you feel."

The act of kindness left both men in tears, and they shared an embrace.
