The family of a 61-year-old man who was killed in an accident involving a motorcycle and two prime movers along the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) on Dec. 29 is seeking witnesses to the accident.

The man's daughter, Reesha, told Mothership that the loss has been devastating for the family.

Even more so for her, as he was supposed to walk her down the aisle at her wedding, which is less than two months away.

What made it even more distressing was that videos of the accident circulated online before the family was informed of the passing.

The accident involved two prime movers, with one believed to be a Malaysia-registered mover.

The victim is believed to have collided with one of the movers, throwing him to the ground.

He was then allegedly run over by the other mover.

"As family members, we chose to speak out not to speculate on the cause of the accident or to blame any party, but to seek a more comprehensive understanding of what happened with the help of the public."

Cautious motorist

Reesha said her father was a cautious motorcyclist and was looking forward to her upcoming wedding in March 2026.

"He was very excited for the wedding," said Reesha, adding that he was part of the wedding preparations, where she heard that he was part of a surprise dance for her.

"Now I don't [have] my daddy to walk me down the aisle," said Reesha.

She pointed out that her father was an experienced motorcyclist of over 40 years who always paid great attention to road safety and taught safety concepts to his son, daugher and everyone around him.

"My father was a loving and humorous man who brought a lot of joy to those around him."

A selfless man known to be the life of the party, her father would go above and beyond for "everyone he loves but himself," said Reesha.

He was also a very hardworking man, she said, adding that "he refused to listen" when both she and her brother told him to fully retire.

She added: "We will always remember his lectures about road safety because he's been driving and riding for over 40 years.

"My daddy is always a safe driver and would never hurt a single life. He also has a crazy obsession with bikes since he was 17 years old and took so much care of them."

She said her family hopes to find out what happened and also wants to raise awareness of road safety so that other families can avoid similar injuries in the future.

The family is appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time, particularly residents around Jubilee Road, Clementi West Street 1 (Blocks 606, 604, 605, and 610), as well as The Clement Canopy condominium, who may have dashcam or CCTV footage of the moments leading up to the accident.

They stressed the importance of quickly coming forward, especially vehicles with dashcam footage that captured what happened leading up to the accident.

They are especially hoping to reach heavy vehicle drivers who frequently travel these roads.

Reesha said authorities have told the family that both prime movers involved in the accident have been identified.

She added that the family is desperately seeking public help from anyone who has dashcam footage that captured how the accident occurred to come forward quickly as it is "very time sensitive".

"It's been 11 days," she said, adding that "footage can be overridden".

Police confirmed with Mothership that the case is still under investigation.
