HK actor, 75, breaks up with fiancée, 39, after finding out she's secretly married & has teenage son
He described the breakup as amicable.
Veteran Hong Kong actor Lee Lung Kei, 75, has confirmed that he has broken up with his 39-year-old fiancée, Chris Wong.
Citing its sister publication Sing Tao Daily, Hong Kong news outlet The Standard revealed that the 75-year-old made the announcement during an interview, following online allegations that Wong was already married and had a teenage son in mainland China.
Photographed having dinner with her husband and mother
According to 8days, the claims were first raised by an influencer known as "Tour Guide Brother" Hugo, who alleged that Wong married a man, surnamed Chan, in 2007 in her hometown of Foshan, and that the couple share a 16-year-old son.
The Standard further reported that on Dec. 21, 2025, Wong was photographed having a Winter Solstice dinner with her husband and her mother in Foshan.
Wong, whose real name is Wang Qingxia, was previously sentenced to 25 months' jail in June 2024 for offences related to document falsification and overstaying in Hong Kong,
Her sentence was later commuted, and she was released on Jul. 7, 2025, after which she was immediately deported to China, The Straits Times reported.
Lee had waited for Wong at the Shenzhen arrival hall upon her release, welcoming her with a bouquet of 60 roses.
The two, who had been in a relationship for over five years, were expected to get married by the end of 2025.
"I am the third wheel"
However, Wong later disappeared from the public eye.
According to Lee, the two gradually drifted apart after Wong returned to her hometown in mainland China and their breakup was finalised after news of the Winter Solstice dinner emerged, The Standard reported.
"The Winter Solstice dinner made me understand everything: I am the third wheel," he said. "She wouldn't even spend such an important day with me, so I couldn't hide the fact anymore. She later called off the relationship."
However, he described the breakup as amicable, adding that he promised not to do anything rash or hurt her.
The two also agreed to stay in touch.
Wanted to prevent further media harassment of Wong
Lee stated that the reason for speaking up publicly was to prevent further media harassment of Wong, stressing that he would not delve into the details of the breakup.
When asked if Wong had deliberately concealed the truth, Lee said he had chosen to trust her and never questioned her.
Wishes them a happy life
Recalling the moment he learned of Wong’s family dinner, Lee forced a smile and said, “It was really heartbreaking, but I knew letting go was the right thing.”
When asked if he felt he owed an apology to Wong’s husband and son, the actor repeatedly said no, stating that "ignorance is not a sin," and wished them a happy life together.
He then covered his face and fell silent before adding, with tears in his eyes:
"I’m fine. At my age, what haven’t I experienced? Feelings come and go — they’re uncontrollable."
He had never met Wong's parents
Lee also revealed that he had never met Wong’s parents, though he knew they opposed the relationship, The Standard reported.
While he knew nothing about her husband, he said the outcome was for the best, acknowledging that they had a 36-year age gap and he would inevitably pass away before her.
"Now she has support and a family, which is very good for her," he said.
When asked if he would consider another relationship with a significant age difference, Lee smiled and replied, "Why not? I have nothing to be afraid of."
Reflecting on the relationship, he said he believed in fate, adding that "things come around and go."
He concluded by wishing Wong well, once again covering his face and crying for more than ten seconds.
The interview ended on a lighter note, with Lee joking that a fortune teller had once told him he has a strong appeal to women.
