A Malaysian actress and former beauty queen recently revealed that she turned down an offer to be a married man's third wife with some mind-boggling luxuries.

Amy Nur Tinie, 29, talked about it on the Dec. 25 episode of Malaysian content creator Safwan Nazri's podcast.

She described the man as a "VVIP", a "Very Very Important Person" that in Malaysia typically refers to people with very high socio-economic status.

In return for becoming his third wife, the man would give Amy a bungalow, a car, 10 acres (40,000 square metres) of land, and a monthly allowance of RM50,000 (S$15,800).

The proposal

Amy explained on the podcast that the man was among the many VVIPs she encountered when she hosted corporate events.

These VVIPs would try to get her number and ask her out.

When one of them asked her to be his third wife, she declined.

The man was the same age as her father, she said.

Previously, in April, Amy told Malaysian media about what appears to be the same proposal, and added that the man was a Datuk.

It happened around 2019, when she was 23 and still actively participating in beauty pageants.

She had been seeking sponsorships from corporations to pay for her to compete overseas, and this Datuk made an offer on the condition that she become his third wife.

Both Amy and her mother turned him down.

"My mother's response was firm: she wasn't about to sell me off," Amy said.

No, thank you

Besides the age issue, Amy rejected the proposal as she preferred to be single and financially independent.

On the podcast, she shared that she could have accepted the proposal if she wanted an easy and comfortable life, but she wanted to succeed on her own and in a respectable way.

"No, thank you, I’ll work on my own," she said, as quoted by World of Buzz.

"I choose to be single for the time being. I want to serve my parents with halal money. I want to earn money through the right channels."

Speaking about the proposal in April, Amy also expressed serious interest in developing her acting career.

"I want to move beyond the image of a beauty queen. I want people to recognise me as a versatile actress, not just a pretty face," she said.

What she looks for in a partner

Discussing her criteria for a partner on the podcast, Amy shared that he did not need to be very wealthy, as long as he is responsible and financially stable.

Getting a rich partner would be a bonus, not a priority for her.

At the same time, she could not deny that looks also mattered.

"If he looks like Iron Man, I’m fine, but not if he looks like a grandpa," she said.
