Edmund Chen, 63, charged with careless driving, causing grievous hurt to motorcyclist
His lawyer said he wishes to plead guilty.
Former actor Edmund Chen was charged in court on Jan. 14.
According to a CNA report, the 63-year-old was charged with one count of driving without reasonable consideration for other road users, resulting in an accident.
On Mar. 4, 2025 afternoon, he allegedly slowed down unnecessarily, almost coming to a stop, along Ayer Rajah Expressway towards Central Expressway.He was also accused of failing to keep a proper lookout before making an abrupt lane change.
This caused him to collide with a motorcycle that was overtaking his car, causing grievous hurt to the rider.
He was represented by Josephus Tan and Cory Wong from Invictus Law.
CNA reported that Chen's lawyer said he wished to plead guilty.
He will return to court on Jan. 29.
For driving without reasonable consideration, he could be fined up to S$5,000, sentenced to two years in jail, and banned from driving for five years.
