Thai women, 30 & 38, smuggle balls of heroin in rectum for money & all-expense paid trip to Taiwan
115 balls of heroin were discovered.
In return for money and an all-expense paid trip, two Thai women, 30 and 38, acted as drug mules and attempted to smuggle balls of heroin weighing over 663g in total into Taiwan.
They did not make it far as they were arrested by border police upon landing.
The drugs were later discovered hidden inside their bodies, with some found in their rectum.
Lured by money and all-expense paid trip
According to ETtoday and Taiwan's Central News Agency (CNA), the incident took place earlier in September.
The women apparently agreed to take up the drug syndicate's job offer as they faced financial difficulties and were unfamiliar with the law.
They each received US$1,000 (S$1,290), with further payment promised upon successful delivery of the drugs to a contact in Taiwan.
Apart from that, the women were also promised an all-expense paid trip to Taiwan.
Waterproofed and wrapped in condom
To smuggle the drugs, the heroin was first balled up in waterproof bag before being stuffed into a condom to prevent the body from digesting them.
The smaller-sized balls were ingested with olive oil, while the larger ones were hidden inside the rectum.

115 balls of heroin discovered
With the drugs concealed, the women set off for Kaohsiung, Taiwan, from Bangkok in September.
However, local authorities were already on to the women as they had received intelligence reports in August about a possible smuggling attempt, according to CNA.
Border police acted on the report and arrested the two women upon their arrival.
They were rushed to the hospital to egest the drugs.

The street value of the drugs totalled NT$8,300,000 (around S$341,000).
The women admitted to their offences, and their trial began in late-October.
